Beschreibung
gegen Shadowbans Macht anzetteln?

tourten international. Sie erhielt Förderungen von Creative New Zealand (2021, 2022), dem Fonds Darstellende Künste
(2023), dem Berliner Senat (2024, 2025) und dem Hauptstadtkulturfonds (2026).

----------
A diary used to be the most private of records. Now we keep it in public: we post, share, and hand over our likes,
habits, and relationships, while platforms turn our entries into profit. Surveillance capitalism and the surveillance
state want the same thing: to know us completely.
Drone Diaries stages a surveillance apparatus mid-operation. Five agents move through the second floor of CANK:
Web Crawler, Ping, Cookie, Link, and Shadowban. Their operating systems are an examination of contemporary
data extraction and the “Operativer Vorgang OV” (surveillance procedure) of the Stasi (the former East German
secret police).
What happens when this surveillance apparatus decides to rebel against its own code? When Web Crawler and
Ping stage a coup against Shadowban's reign? Will Cookie reveal their secret before Link opens a portal?
Drone Diaries is a performative examination of whether our humanity can win out over the apparatus, and of what
we are willing to sacrifice in order to protect our privacy.

ACCESSIBILITY
The performance takes place on the second floor. Unfortunately, the space is not step-free: a lift goes up to the first floor,
and from there the second floor can only be reached via two short flights of stairs (10 steps in total).
If you would like to use the lift, need a seat, or have any other access needs or questions, please get in touch in advance
at katrina.e.bastian@gmail.com or +4915225283686, so we can arrange early entry with you.
ABOUT KATRINA E. BASTIAN
Katrina works from the conviction that the arts, not tech, hold the clearest path out of AI's dangers — a belief she
pursues through critical collaboration with AI, questioning it from within. Her endurance dance praxis interrogates
consumerism and the fetishization of effort in order to reflect on the terminal implications of our digital age and try to offer
a gentler way of being with AI. She has an MA in choreography from HZT/Ernst Busch. Her work has won awards and
toured internationally. She’s received funding through Creative New Zealand (2021, 2022), Fonds Darstellende Künste
(2023), the Berlin Senate (2024, 2025) and Hauptstadtkulturfonds (2026).
