The Story

In modern-day Greece – or what remains of it – three German friends arrive with their suitcases and their souls:

Faust, a doctor, magician and philosopher, is searching for eternal beauty. He finds it in a run-down bar in Exarchia, in the person of the beautiful Helena. But what he does not know is that she is the daughter of the Greek Prime Minister – and that she has run away from home.

The forces of law and order are mobilized. Helena is believed to have been kidnapped. And Faust, lost among Molotov cocktails, tear gas and political slogans, suddenly finds himself facing the Greek justice system – a recipe for laughter, terror and surrealism.

Mephistopheles, the devil himself, who has given Faust youth and beauty, is searching for his next victim in the new Greece – together with the Homunculus, a tiny creature living inside a glass bottle and one of Faust’s inventions.

For many years, the Homunculus knew everything – but felt nothing.

Until now.

Because, as a modern form of Artificial Intelligence, he begins to ask himself:

“Do I want to help make the world a better place? Or do I want to conquer it?”
