Duality II: (Im)migration

For the second event in the Duality series, we have chosen a hot topic that manifests itself in every classroom, dinner table and coffee catch-up: (im)migration. Both immigration and migration are a natural & sociological necessity created by the changing world around us. In nature, animals and birds migrate to survive harsh winters or deadly summers. Humans immigrate in search of a better life, in a world where their homes are destroyed by Western bombs or economies gutted by colonialism, sanctions and blockades.

As the world turns more & more hostile towards both human and animal migration, Duality II invites poets & writers to explore the theme in their own words and styles.

The event will also have a mini art fair featuring local Hamburg artists starting at 16:00 and during the breaks of the event.

The Duality series is an evening event where we explore pieces that span across one or more themes that impact the human condition in present-day society. Our first event explored the duality of living between an increasingly painful reality and our constant quest to escape it, featuring performances by four local poets sharing their perspectives on this topic
