Sometimes, all a space needs to come alive is the right painting on the right wall. This belief has guided gallerist Sonja Schlagel for over twenty years — and in June, she brings it to life in a very special way.
For two weeks, Kunstraum 15 at Zeltweg 15 in the heart of Zürich's Seefeld neighbourhood opens its doors for a concentrated selling exhibition: 150 original paintings by international artists, carefully curated and available for acquisition at special exhibition prices.
The range is deliberately broad. French Impressionist Jean Lefort invites quiet contemplation with his tender, light-filled scenes — paintings in which time seems to stand still. Dutch artist Nicole Janssen, by contrast, works with the expressive power of a mixed oil-and-acrylic technique: figurative works and landscapes merge into pieces of atmospheric depth and emotional intensity. Further positions from sonjART's international portfolio — including Beatrice Jud, Cees Müller, Francisco Escobar, Henk Vierveijzer and Annemarie Molnar — reflect the full breadth of contemporary painting, from realism to abstract gesture.
