You’re warmly invited to Alejandra Abad’s Zurich solo exhibition of the year: “Colores de mi Tierra"

In this exhibition, Alejandra Abad delves into the emotional experience of the migrant, often feeling divided between two places, with roots stretching across continents. It reflects on the concept of "añoranza" a deep, nostalgic longing for family, homeland, and the parallel life of what could have been.

While having built a life in Switzerland, the artist still feels a deep sense of responsibility and awareness to remain connected to her cultural origins. This exhibition is a heartfelt and humble exploration of the emotional duality many expats live with: a coexistence of joy and longing, of having a heart sometimes painfully stretched between two or more countries.

Colores de mi tierra is also an act of recognition: of one's origins as an essential part of the self. For Alejandra, this exhibition has been a journey of integration a process of becoming whole.

Alejandra Abad is a Swiss-Ecuadorian artist whose work is a vivid exploration of self-expression and discovery. Influenced by music, dance, nature, and the diverse spectrum of human experiences, her paintings are infused with intensity and emotion. Alejandra has exhibited her art in New York, Barcelona, Milan, and Zurich. In 2024 she had her first solo exhibition at Mario Botta’s Fiore di Pietra. In addition her work was featured in British Vogue and had a collaboration with On Shoes marking significant milestones in her art journey. 2025 has started with an exhibition in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and a solo exhibition in Andermatt, Switzerland.

Beyond her artistic achievements, Alejandra is deeply committed to making a positive impact. She supports the Association Cuisine Sans Frontières by donating part of her painting sales to Project El Fogon in the Ecuadorian Amazon Forest, an initiative that fosters education in gastronomy.
