Sofya Pisetsky (piano) & Kinga Wojdalska (viola)
Join us for The Wanderer's Melodies, an hour-long journey for viola and piano that follows the timeless theme of travel, restlessness, and the open road.
Pianist Sofya Pisetsky and violist Kinga Wojdalska weave together a program that spans the lyrical English voice of York Bowen, Frank Bridge, and Vaughan Williams' Songs of Travel, the rhythmic drive of Bartók's Romanian Folk Dances, and the bold modern lines of Hindemith's Sonata op. 25/4. The result is a wandering arc that moves between song and dance, nostalgia and energy.
Sofya Pisetsky is a Zürich-based pianist praised for performances combining depth, refinement, and expressive power. She appears regularly on international stages including Carnegie Hall, the Moscow Philharmonie, and the Tonhalle Zürich.
Kinga Wojdalska is a Polish violist and prizewinner of the Primrose International Viola Competition, performing across Europe as a soloist and chamber musician on a historic Gasparo da Salò viola. She has appeared at major halls including the KKL Luzern, London's Royal Festival Hall, and the Tonhalle Zürich, and currently serves on the faculty of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid.
Date & time: Sunday, 14 June, 17:00
Venue: ZHdK, Pfingstweidstrasse
