Lara Buffard is a French-Swiss performance artist, designer, and maker (b. 1973), whose work blends surreal visuals with symbolic depth. Rooted in personal narratives and feminist strategies, her art explores the complexities of living in a gendered world. Lara transforms embroidery, textiles, and needlework into acts of resistance, reclaiming traditionally feminine crafts as tools for storytelling. Her performances inhabit dreamlike, liminal spaces where ritual meets reality, and softness becomes strength.

With a background in Museology and Theatre Performance, Lara invites audiences into imaginative worlds where care, identity, and rebellion intertwine — challenging norms and reshaping meaning through texture, ritual, and poetic transformation.
