This 4-session summer intensive (4 × 2 hours) is a hands-on exploration of wheel throwing, beginner-friendly and also suitable for people seeking a refresher. This intensive course introduces you to the fundamentals of wheel throwing and working with clay. You’ll learn about the material, how to center clay, create your ceramic pieces and complete them with glazing.
In this course you are encouraged to bring your own ideas or project approaches and receive the support you need. Session one focuses on introduction to clay and wheel throwing, session two on bringing your project concept and developing your forms, session three on trimming, and session four is dedicated to glazing.
You’ll create approximately 6 pieces and your favorites will be fired. Finished ceramics can be collected approximately 2–3 weeks after the course ends. No prior experience needed. All materials included.
