Trip to Basler Herbstmesse (Autumn Fair)

🎡 ESN Fribourg goes to the Basler Herbstmesse! 🎡

Join us for a trip to Switzerland’s biggest funfair! The Basler Herbstmesse has been running since 1471 and takes over the whole city of Basel. You’ll find rides, food stalls, market stands and plenty of autumn atmosphere. We’ll arrive in the afternoon and stay into the evening, so we get to see the fair lit up after dark. ✨

📌 What: A trip to the Basler Herbstmesse.

The fair is spread over 6 locations around the city: Kaserne, Barfüsserplatz, Münsterplatz, Petersplatz, Hallenmesse and Messeplatz & Rosentalanlage. We’ll explore them together, and you’re free to eat, play and ride as much as you like.

• Departure from Fribourg: 14:33
• Return train from Basel: 20:58

Expect about 4–5 hours in Basel!

📍 Where to meet: Burger King inside Fribourg train station, at 14:15.
Please be on time. The train won’t wait for us! 🚆

🎒 What to bring

• CASH 💵. Not all stands accept card!
• Warm clothes. Almost everything is outdoors (only the Hallenmesse is inside).
• Clothes for any weather: rain jacket, umbrella, comfortable shoes
• Spending money for food and rides. How much you spend is up to you!

💰 Price

The price depends on whether you have a GA, an ESNcard, and your age:

• With GA: Free
• With ESNcard, under 25: CHF 12
• With ESNcard, 25 and over: CHF 12
• Without ESNcard, under 25: CHF 15
• Without ESNcard, 25 and over: CHF 15

Included: train ticket to and back from Basel (GA holders travel on their GA). Spending at the fair is not included.

⚠️ Under-25 prices apply if you’re under 25 on the day of the event. We may ask for ID.

Note: Please fill out the Google Form so we can create a Whatsapp Group before the event for easier communication.
