The Waiting Room Condition (Masterproject M.Miccichè 2026)

The Waiting Room Condition explores the sonic and phenomenological dimensions of in-between spaces and the act of waiting through a sound installation using Wave Field Synthesis. Waiting is approached not only conceptually but as a subjective, embodied state oscillating between hope and anxiety, stillness and movement – and sound is chosen as the medium of inquiry because auditive perception, often overshadowed by the visual, operates at the boundary where self and space meet - within the Konzertsaal 1 as exhibition space, that itself combined with the sonic presence of the WFS array system are ultimately part of the sonic piece. Entangled with the presence of the listener all the sonic components, pre-existing and composed, layer up to combine multiple co-existing sonic realities within one omipresent now.
