Rigi Hike Spring 2026 - ESN FHNW

🏔️ ESN FHNW goes hiking!

Join us for an unforgettable trip to Mount Rigi, the "Queen of the Mountains"! 🌄

We'll travel together from Olten and hike up to the summit of Rigi, soaking in breathtaking alpine views the whole way. After conquering the top, we'll descend to Rigi Kaltbad, take the cable car down to Weggis (with beautiful views on the lake), and cap off the day with a scenic boat ride across Lake Lucerne to the city of Luzern 🚤✨

🥾 Hike details:
- Moderate difficulty
- Please wear appropriate hiking or trekking shoes. Students who don't wear appropriate shoes (for example flip flops, heels or similar) will not be accepted for the hike, since it’s very dangerous with such shoes.

- Lunch, Snacks and drinks during the day are not included and not provided. Everyone is responsible for their own. We recommend bringing a packed lunch, as options on the mountain are limited and pricy!

💰 Price:

CHF 15: Students WITHOUT ESN Card and WITHOUT GA Travel Card

CHF 10: Students WITH ESN Card but WITHOUT GA Travel Card

For Free: Students WITH GA Travel Card (please note that only regular GA Travel Card is valid, GA Night DOES NOT count as GA Travel Card holder)

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Students from Basel and Brugg are asked to organize their train ride and ticket from Basel / Brugg to Olten by themselves, since our trip starts only in Olten.

What is included in the ticket price?
🚆 Train ticket for the full day from Olten and back (incl. Mountain Train & Cable Car)
🚢 Boat from Weggis to Luzern
🍹 Celebration drink during the hike

📍 Meeting Point:
Olten Train Station – 31 May 2026 (the exact time will be announced at a later point)

🕗 Registration deadline: Friday, 22 May 2026, 23:59
