about beyond the mat: teacher circles
as facilitators, we often give so much energy to others that we forget to nourish ourselves and our own growth. beyond the mat: teacher circles offer a supportive space to come together with like-minded peers, share experiences, and support each other on both a professional and personal level.

the things that didn't go as planned
when good intentions meet reality
many of us entered this work with a sincere desire to support, guide, inspire, or hold healing spaces for others. and yet, some of our most meaningful lessons arise not when things go smoothly, but when we are challenged by reality.
the workshop that took more energy than expected.
the client whose story stayed with us longer than anticipated.
the retreat that unfolded differently than planned.
the boundary we didn’t set.
the responsibility we carried for too long.
the good intention that met an unexpected reality.
this teacher circle invites us to reflect on these experiences — not as failures, but as sources of insight and learning.
together we explore questions such as:

• what responsibilities truly belong to us — and which do not?
• what have difficult experiences taught us about holding space and facilitating others?
• how can we continue to serve without losing ourselves?
this is a circle about learning, growth, humility, and the human experience of supporting others on their path.
about the circles
we launched the teacher circles in january 2025 with the intention of creating more community among facilitators. this path can often feel isolating, and it is not always easy to find people who truly understand this work.
these circles were created as a space to be seen, understood, and supported — a place where connection, collaboration, and mutual recognition can grow.
each month we explore a different topic, including themes such as the facilitator–student relationship, self-worth and self-employment, digital tools for teachers, and much more.
