Winter Hike Zermatt

Feel like you didn’t do enough hiking this year? Don’t worry, we got you. 
Join us for a last hike in the winterwonderland of Zermatt! ☃️

A beautiful path takes us from Zermatt to Sunnegga (about 3.15h). We will walk through snowy forests and enjoy a breathtaking view on the Matterhorn and the village of Zermatt. We will then take the funicular back to Zermatt. 🏔️

WHERE: Zermatt, Valais. Meeting point: Bern Bahnhof.

Tickets include: train and funicular tickets (with GA and Halbtax you get 50% off the funicular price, otherwise you pay full price)

Tickets DO NOT include: Lunch, personal expenses

Important Info: Wear warm winter clothing and several layers as it can be very cold and wet but also warm if the sun comes out. Also wear hiking boots and bring enough water and sunscreen.

ESN card discount

The ticket options “with ESN card” are available at a special reduced price for holders of the ESN card. Please only purchase a ticket from this category if you own a valid ESN card or if you plan to buy one in the near future. You may buy a card from ESN Bern for 15.- CHF. It is valid for one year and will give you discounts at our activities. Note that the card needs to be filled with your personal information and that it will be checked at the beginning of each activity.

GA

The “Generalabonnement” (GA) by the swiss train company SBB is a monthly or yearly subscription that grants holders unlimited travel on almost all trains. This is not handled by ESN. Please only buy a ticket from the category “with GA” if you own this train subscription from SBB. Halbtax (Half fare), GA Night and local transportation subscriptions are irrelevant for this ticket option.

Liability Message

Participation in the ESN Bern program takes place at your own risk. The university and ESN Bern accept no liability for accidents that occur during ESN Bern activities. Adequate insurance cover is the responsibility of the participants.

You agree to allow ESN Bern to publish, copyright, and use pictures of yourself in print and electronic formats such as social media channels, publications, videos, and websites.

You understand that you will not receive payment or other compensation for that. If you do not wish your pictures to be taken or published by ESN Bern - it is your responsibility to opt out and consequently inform the responsible event organisers before the event starts.

Participating to the ESN Bern events you agree to behave accordingly to the ESN Switzerland Code of Conduct.

Refund policy

 Please understand that ESN Bern cannot issue refunds on any tickets sold due to multiple reasons. You are allowed to resell the ticket for the same price to fellow students / ESN members (with the same train reductions). Please note that selling tickets with a profit is forbidden. Also note that the illness insurance is provided by Eventfrog and ESN has nothing to do with it.
