Die Idee zu Way Beyond entstand an einem Workshop des Arts@CERN-Programms. Gefilmt wurde die Arbeit über die Entwicklung eines neuen Teilchenbeschleunigers, genannt Future Circular Collider (FCC), zwischen 2017 und 2019 am CERN in Genf, aber auch an anderen Schauplätzen wie dem jährlichen FCC-Zusammenarbeits-Meeting in Berlin 2018. Damit kombiniert wurden Archivmaterialien des CERN. Das Ergebnis ist ein Film über die Suche der Menschheit nach den Ursprüngen des Universums und Träume der Wissenschaft. Way Beyond lief an verschiedenen europäischen Festivals, darunter am Visons du Réel Festival 2021 (im Burning Lights Wettbewerb), an den Photo Days in Paris 2021, an den Solothurner Filmtagen 2022 und am Thessaloniki Documentary Festival 2022.
