This August, we are inviting a small group to join us for our very first OLIO Workshop Weekender — an experience that brings together food, learning, and the beauty of slowing down in nature.
What to expect:
Over two days, we will explore the world of natural wine and wild mushrooms in a small, intimate group. This is not about rushing through a schedule, but about learning through experience, connecting with the landscape, and spending thoughtful time together.
We begin on Saturday morning with a warm welcome at the Arche Stiftung on Ruchenberg, a historic chalet located above the picturesque Vierwaldstättersee near Gersau — just one hour from Zürich. After settling in and sharing a light lunch, we will explore the grounds and visit nearby farms to get a feel for the landscape and local context.
In the afternoon, we’ll begin our first workshop with Blume Wein, a Zürich-based collective of passionate wine importers and gastronomes — Zarina, Alexa, Max, and Paul. Their work is rooted in a love for expressive wines that speak of place. With deep care for soil and craftsmanship, they work exclusively with winemakers who engage their land with respect and intention. Blume Wein’s team will guide us through an exclusive tasting and help us explore what makes natural wine so alive,

We will end the day with an Apero and a shared dinner — seasonal, local. Afterwards, you are welcome to unwind in the outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake, or gather around the open fire with a glass of wine and good conversation.
On Sunday, after a relaxed breakfast, we head into the forest for our second workshop, led by Manu from Fungi Manufaktur. Manu’s passion for mushrooms began in childhood, during long walks with his grandparents through the forests of Bavaria. Today, after years of foraging, cultivating rare species, and deepening his knowledge, he shares his fascination with fungi in a way that is both accessible and inspiring. He will guide us in reading the forest, identifying and gathering wild mushrooms, and returning to the chalet to prepare and taste what we have found — together.
We close the weekend with one final shared meal before slowly packing up and heading back down the mountain.
What is included:
– Overnight stay at the chalet
– All meals and beverages including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks
– Two guided workshops with Blume Wein and Fungi Manu.faktur
– All materials and tools for the workshop
– A chance to cook, forage, taste, and learn in a beautiful setting
– Time to rest, connect, and be fully present —in nature, with good people
The workshops will take place in German or English, based on the participants’ needs.
We've set a special price for this first edition — a warm invitation to be part of the beginning.
If this sounds like your kind of weekend, we would love to share it with you.
