*108 Sun Salutations & Celebratory Dance for Unity*

Join us for the Autumn Equinox SunDance where we'll unite the Zurich yoga community through 108 Sun Salutations and a joyful dance celebration. Let’s come together to promote well-being, celebrate unity, and give back to our community in this unforgettable autumn event.

When: September 21, 2024

Where: Kantonschule Enge - we will be in the upper level outdoors courtyard grass space, in the center of the school buildings

Timings:

8:00 am - 9:30 am: 108 Guided Sun Salutations with headsets

10::30 am - 11:30 am: Dance celebration with headsets, led by the Secret Sunrise crew

Public Transport & Parking:

Nearest train stop: Bahnhof Enge

Nearest tram stop: Enge/Bederstrasse

Parking: Limited parking opportunities available, both on the campus and in the surroundings

**This event will take place regardless of weather, as we have roof coverage in the case of rain**

Why 108 sun salutations? 

The number 108 is sacred in yoga, symbolizing spiritual completion and unity. Performing 108 Sun Salutations is both a challenging and sacred practice, representing the union of body, mind, and spirit. It is an opportunity to embody the essence of yoga by demonstrating unity and togetherness.

The Power of Dance to Celebrate.

After the Sun Salutations, we'll transition into a joyful celebration-dance, led by the Secret Sunrise Zurich crew in a unique experience with groovy music & headsets, moving, connecting and sharing joy in unity, on the successful completion of the practice. 

Ticket Options:

The choice is yours. Yoga & Dance combo or just Yoga or just Dance.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards Incontro-verein - a private organisation who support, take care and empower a community of people who are less fortunate right here in Zurich - https://incontro-verein.ch/about-us/. Giving back to community is important to us, allowing us to create positive impact and contribute to a brighter and more connected world. Your contributions are so helpful! 

What to bring / What to wear:

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move easily in. 

Bring along your own yoga mat. 

Sunscreen & a towel to wipe off your sweat.

A filled-up water bottle to stay hydrated. 

Yoga is practiced without shoes. For the dance session, it’s up to you if you’d like to wear shoes or not. Just make sure they’re comfy. 

What to know? 

You don’t need to show up knowing how to practice Sun Salutations. They will be guided by professional teachers based in Zurich. The practice is available to all levels of fitness. 

The dance portion is accessible to all ages, so bring along your family to celebrate with you. No pro dance moves required. While the session will be facilitated with some inspirational cues, you are free to move in any way that feels good to you and flow naturally to the groovy beats.  

*Please arrive 30 minutes earlier for each session to settle in so we can start on time*
