Samba Enredo Weekend with Gabriel Lopes

Brazilian percussionist Gabriel Lopes returns to Zürich for a special weekend of samba with Zurich School of Samba.

The weekend opens with a Pagode / Roda de Samba workshop on Friday evening, followed by two days of Samba Enredo workshops on Saturday and Sunday.

Participants will explore the musical language of Rio de Janeiro samba schools, playing together in a full bateria and developing groove, listening and ensemble balance.

The Saturday and Sunday workshops form a two day musical progression, building towards the full energy of playing together in a samba school style bateria.

Open to all levels. Instruments will be available, and participants are also welcome to bring their own samba instruments.
