We invite you to an enchanting evening of classical Indian music with Switzerland’s foremost Dhrupad artist, Shri Amit Sharma. This exceptional concert promises to be a celebration of Dhrupad, one of the most ancient and revered forms of Hindustani classical music. Shri Amit Sharma will be joined by the renowned Pakhawaj player, Shri Aditya Dip, hailing from Varanasi, India. The Pakhawaj, a barrel-shaped two-headed drum, is the traditional percussion instrument used in Dhrupad performances, and Shri Aditya Dip’s rhythmic prowess will provide the perfect complement to the vocal intricacies of Dhrupad.

The evening will begin with a special performance by nine talented young artists, aged 7-12, who have completed one year of Dhrupad training. Come witness the fruits of their hard work and encourage these budding artists in their musical journey.

Don’t miss this remarkable evening that brings together established masters and young talents, offering a unique glimpse into the past, present, and future of Dhrupad. Join us in supporting the continuation of this profound musical tradition and experience the transformative power of one of India’s most ancient classical music forms.
