The Trio Improv’iste is a jazz trio that explores the rhythmic possibilities of tap dancing as a percussive instrument within jazz. In this unique formation, the tap dancer takes on the role of the drummer—music becomes dance, and dance becomes music.
Since its debut at the Cully Jazz Festival in 2006, the project has continued to evolve, enriched by diverse musical traditions, and has toured in Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Mexico, and Guatemala. Among its most notable recent highlights: a special research grant from the Fondation Parallèle (2021), and performances at Chorus (2022, 2024), the Guatemala Jazz Festival (2023), Sunset-Sunside in Paris (2023), Marigliano in Jazz Festival in Naples (2023), the Lausanne Festival of Improvised Music (2023), and the Generations Jazz Festival (2023).

Le "Trio Improv’iste" est un trio jazz qui explore les possibilités rythmiques des claquettes comme instrument de percussion. Dans cette formation singulière, le danseur de claquettes tient le rôle de batteur : la musique devient danse, et la danse devient musique.
Depuis sa première apparition au Cully Jazz Festival en 2006, le projet n’a cessé d’évoluer, s’enrichissant de traditions musicales variées, et s’est produit en Suisse, France, Allemagne, Italie, Canada, Mexique et Guatemala. Parmi les faits marquants récents : une bourse de recherche spéciale de la Fondation Parallèle (2021), ainsi que des concerts à Chorus (2022, 2024), au Guatemala Jazz Festival (2023), au Sunset-Sunside à Paris (2023), au festival Marigliano in Jazz à Naples (2023), au Festival de Musique Improvisée de Lausanne (2023) et au Generations Jazz Festival (2023).

Venez vous initier à l’art des claquettes et découvrir les bases de cette danse percussive et expressive. Le petit plus ? Vous aurez l’occasion de fabriquer votre propre paire de chaussures de claquettes !
Cet atelier est ouvert à tous les âges et a été pensé pour rassembler petits et grands dans un moment créatif et joyeux. Que vous soyez débutant curieux ou simplement à la recherche d’une activité ludique, vous êtes les bienvenu·e·s.
Cerise sur le gâteau : lors du concert en soirée, les participants qui le souhaitent pourront monter sur scène avec l’artiste pour présenter ce qu’ils auront appris !
À prévoir : des baskets ou des chaussures en cuir basses, avec semelles dures et plates. Pas d’inquiétude : vos chaussures ressortiront intactes de cet atelier !
