Nadja is a duo of Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff—active since 2005—making music which has been variously described as ambient doom, dreamsludge, or metalgaze, a signature sound which combines the atmospheric textures of shoegaze, ambient, and electronic music with the heaviness and volume of metal, noise, and industrial music. Uochi Toki is an Italian experimental hip-hop duo formed in 2002 near Alessandria, consisting of Matteo “Napo” Palma (voice and lyrics) and Riccardo “Rico” Gamondi (electronics and production). They emerged from earlier work in the indie hip-hop project Laze Biose and quickly became known for blending rap with electronic noise and avant-garde elements. Their early releases, like Vocapatch (2003) and the self-titled Uochi Toki (2004), were highly experimental, with numerous tracks and unconventional structures. Over the years they have mixed conceptual storytelling, sharp wordplay, and abstract soundscapes, tackling themes from club culture to broader social commentary. Albums such as La chiave del 20 (2007 with Eterea Post Bong Band) and Libro audio (2009) helped define their unique artistic voice. Their work has earned them a place in the Italian underground music scene for its originality and boundary-pushing style.
