sonic somatics - listening session
sonic somatics is a moving, embodied deep listening practice—where listening incorporates awareness of the entire somatosensory system. By deepening into the sensation and affect of sound, a presence emerges in which the reciprocity between sound and body unfolds as a vibrational, resonant space—bridging physical and psychic landscapes. This listening with the body evokes a dream state, where sensory experiences expand into fluid, continuously evolving sonic environments.
The session begins with gentle guided body meditations in movement and stillness, opening and attuning to the senses and the body. The meditations develop into listening scores that set the tone for entering into a longer listening session consisting of landscapes comprised of field recordings, textures and deeply relaxing sounds.
