Jnānānkura : Lecture Demonstration

Nṛtya-kāvya 

The lecture demonstration will feature segments from exquisite choreographies with scintillating music rooted in classical literature of India.

Excerpts from Kālidāsa's classics Raghuvamśa, Kumārasambhava and Śākuntalam, Lilāśukā's krsna-karnamrutam, and Śudrakās Mrcchakatikam, will be featured segments from productions based on the timeless epics Rāmāyana and Mahābhārata, which evoke a wide array of rasas, will be showcased.

Additionally, clipping from a seventh-century comic play, Bhagavadajjukam, which has been reconstructed based completely on the Nātyaśāstric techniques, will be shared.

All connoisseurs of art and culture are welcome to the event and are sure to be enriched by the presentations.
