The FQ Matriarchy Kiki Ball

Ballroom is founded in the work of the Black and Latinx Fem Queens (Trans Women). The whole Queer scene is founded, protected and lead by Trans women and wouldn’t exist in it’s diversity without Trans Woman. Women like Marsha P. Johnson, Miss Major, Bülent Ersoy, Dominque R. Jackson, Angelica Ross, Sasha Colby or ballroom Staples like Crystal Labejia, Octavia St Laurent and Daesja Mizrahi are only a few of the thousands of examples of the Fem Queens that have paved the way for the Trans and Queer Spaces today.

Tonight is the time to give the Crown and respect back to the Trans woman that have inspired and paved the way or are doing so today. Come inspired by the trans Woman that you want to pay homage to, whether they did the work outside or inside of ballroom. Whether you pick the Icons of back in the day or choose to reference the new Generation of trans women, the choice is yours!
