SwissFilmClub workshop: Analog portraiture with Paeulini

Join SwissFilmClub and photographer Paeulini (Chantal Convertini) for a one-day analog portrait workshop by the lake. This is a hands-on experience in portrait photography, focused on working with film in natural outdoor light. Guided by Paeulini’s thoughtful and intuitive approach, participants will explore how to build trust with their subjects, compose meaningful images, and work slowly and intentionally with film. The group will stay small, under 20 people, to allow space for conversation, experimentation, and shared learning. Expect an afternoon of teaching inputs and fun exercises!

The exact location will be shared with attendees ahead of time. It will take place at a peaceful lakeside spot near Zürich, about 20 minutes from Zürich HB by car or 35 minutes by public transport. This is a full-day event, and a pic-nic style lunch, drinks, and snacks will be provided. Just bring your camera, a few extra rolls of film, and an open mind. There will also be a few analog-inspired surprises waiting for you.

Please note, there will not be additional models. The aim is to learn how to shoot as well as learn what it's like to be on the other side of the lens, posing for other photographers. This helps understand how to better build trust and direction on both sides.

   Includes all workshop access, goodies, and a 1:1 portfolio review with Paeulini to get tailored feedback and creative guidance on a separate occasion.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the workshop will shift indoors to Paeulini’s studio in Basel. Either way, it will be a creative and immersive day for anyone looking to go deeper into portrait photography on film.

The workshop will be held primarely in English, some German would be possible.

Refund Policy

• Within 24 hours of purchase: You may request a refund, minus the non-refundable processing fee charged by the ticketing platform.
• After 24 hours of purchase: All sales are final and non-refundable, except in the case of a documented medical reason.
• Up to 24 hours before the event: Refunds may be considered only with valid medical proof.
• Bad weather: No refunds will be issued due to weather conditions, as a backup indoor location (Paeulini’s studio in Basel) is secured.
• If the event is canceled by the organizers due to unforeseen circumstances: You will receive a full refund.
• All refunds will exclude the platform’s processing fee.
