From Concept to Real Time Visualisation: The industry-level educational programme during Milan Design Week
The “Automotive Design Experience” is a 4-day immersive full workshop programme dedicated to students, designers, and enthusiasts who want to explore the modern automotive design workflow in a real industry context.
Rather than a traditional course, the programme is structured as a full design experience, where each day functions as an independent workshop while contributing to a complete design pipeline journey.
Module 3 — Immersive Visualisation & Virtual Design Review
Focus:
- Automotive lighting visualisation
- Software overview
- Import of 3D models created the previous day (or provided by C-LAB) and preparation for visualisation
- Material, texture, and lighting application
- Introduction to virtual reality workflows: Oculus setup and VRED integration
- Real-time interaction with 3D models in a virtual environment for design evaluation
- Tool: Autodesk VRED
Output:
- Professional render setup for design presentation
- Creation of a presentation scene with materials and lighting
- VR exploration of the model with the possibility to apply real-time design adjustments
