Many times, BIPOC creatives have less access to cultural spaces and financial support, despite having the same or even more competence and credibility to be supported. At other times, BIPOC individuals are invited as tokens, being silenced and not appreciated for their contributions.
CRIA is a space that creates and allows room for different BIPOC groups and individuals in the cultural scene to exchange and share knowledge, as well as to build and strengthen our community on a national and international level.
The festival will include keynotes by Brandy Butler and Naya de Souza, on developing their careers and becoming well known despite the systematic racism present in their fields, as well as a panel talk with Esengo, Shallanda, Mona-Lisa Kole and Yuvviki Dioh, and moderated by KA-RABA, where they will discuss what does it mean to be a BIPOC
