Description
Pilates is a mind-body practice that builds strength, stability, and range of motion while improving focus and mood. For dancers, it is a valuable way to support technique and keep the body balanced and resilient.
This mat class uses resistance bands and focuses on what dancers most need: exercises chosen to address the physical demands of dance and the muscular imbalances that often come with it. Together we work on:
- Core strength and stability
- Spinal mobility
- Turnout and alignment
- Leg extensions
- Foot and ankle stability, including pointing the foot
- Carriage of the arms and support through the upper body
You can use the class as a thorough warm-up before the Tanzhaus profitraining, or as a standalone conditioning session. The goal is to help you move with more strength and ease, and to reduce your risk of injury.
Who it's for: Dance professionals and students of all levels. No Pilates experience needed.
What to bring: Comfortable clothing you can move in. A mat, if you can. Bands are provided.
Where we meet: Studio 1 at Tanzhaus Zurich (enter via nude café)
Please register before the start of class.
