As a public observatory, Urania-Sternwarte Zürich offers exciting guided tours for young and old alike. Under expert guidance, you can observe the sky using excellent instruments. Visitors receive a brief introduction to astronomy and get to know the telescope that is over 100 years old. The Zeiss refractor with a 30 cm aperture allows magnifications of up to 600 times. The guides explain the celestial highlights visible at the Zurich sky at the time of your visit.

The 50-meter-high tower and the central location also offer a wonderful view of the city, the lake, and even the alps. The observatory is a listed landmark of the city and has been part of Zurich’s cultural life since 1907.

The observatory is equipped with screens and simulations, allowing for engaging astronomical presentations at any time. Evening tours and lectures take place in all weather conditions and are suitable for adults and interested children aged 9 and up. The entrance opens 30 minutes before the start of the tour.
