Description
1984 by George Orwell, a new adaptation created by Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan, directed by Brooke Lipman.
Big Brother is watching. In Robert Icke and Duncan Macmillan’s powerful stage adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984, a group of future historians tries to piece together the fate of Winston Smith, a man who dares to challenge the totalitarian regime he lives under. As Winston enters a forbidden love affair with Julia and begins secretly writing down his thoughts — an act punishable by death — he is drawn into a desperate search for truth in a society where the Party controls language, memory, and reality itself.
