DER HELD VOM BAHNHOF FRIEDRICHSTRASSE erzählt die Geschichte vom kurz vor der Pleite stehenden Berliner Videothekenbesitzer Micha Hartung (Charly Hübner), der ungewollt zum gesamtdeutschen Helden wird: Als ihn zum 30. Jahrestag des Mauerfalls ein Journalist zum Drahtzieher der größten Massenflucht der DDR stilisiert, steht sein Leben plötzlich Kopf. Als Hochstapler wider Willen verstrickt sich Micha in einem Gestrüpp aus Halbwahrheiten und handfesten Lügen.
