Bei einem Fest für Alexander den Großen zeigt sich Timotheus aus Theben als bester Musiker aller Zeiten, bis die heilige Cäcilia erscheint und ihm die Schönheit der Kirchenmusik offenbart. In wunderbaren Arien und Chören zeigt Händel, wie Musik alles darstellen kann und dabei unsere Seele direkt berührt.
