Die Schöpfung des österreichischen Komponisten Joseph Haydn ist eines der berühmtesten Werke der Klassik. Wahrlich ein grosses Werk, welches sich durch lebendige Orchesterpassagen, eindrückliche Chorpartien und eingängige Arien auszeichnet.

Die Schöpfung ist ein Oratorium und handelt von der Erschaffung der Welt, wie sie im ersten Kapitel der Genesis erzählt wird. Das Werk entstand ab 1796 bis 1798 als drittes seiner vier Oratorien.
