„Raphael Jost is that rarest of birds“, sagte Will Vinson einst. Der Sänger und Songwriter verfügt über eine großartige Stimme, und am Piano teilt er die Bühne mit Musikern, die ihn auf Augenhöhe begleiten.
Jost versteht sich als moderner Crooner. Seine Songs sind Momentaufnahmen aus seinem Leben – humorvoll und mit Tiefgang. Eingängige Melodien werden raffiniert verpackt, Einflüsse aus dem Pop bleiben deutlich hörbar. Gleichzeitig liebt es Jost, swingende Standards zu singen. Am Piano lässt er Idole aus der Swing-Tradition wie Oscar Peterson, Monty Alexander oder Ahmad Jamal lebendig werden.
Nun präsentiert Jost sein neues Album Over the Moon. Mit dabei sind zwei herausragende Solisten Bastien Rieser an der Trompete und Alex Hendriksen am Tenorsaxofon, der britische Kontrabassist Tommy Fuller sowie der renommierte Drummer Pius Baschnagel. Die fünf Musiker vereinen unbändige Spielfreude und eine Liebe zur Jazz-Tradition. Sie begeistern das Publikum mit energetischem Swing-Feel und lebendigem Zusammenspiel.
