Pile of Songs is an intimate concert & conversation series exploring songwriting and literary influences. Surrounded by bookshelves, each evening opens with a short conversation about songwriting and literary inspirations, followed by a live concert in this intimate setting. Seating is limited to 20 guests.
Valeska Steiner
Valeska Steiner is a singer and songwriter from Zurich. With her distinctive voice and a sensitivity to the poetry of everyday life, she became an active presence in the Swiss music scene at a young age. In 2007, she moved to Hamburg, where she formed the acclaimed duo BOY with bassist and songwriter Sonja Glass. Together, they have released two studio albums, toured extensively around the world and received multiple awards for their warm, nuanced sound and emotionally resonant songwriting.
Now based in Zurich again, Steiner has been playing more regularly at venues across Switzerland, sharing the stage with her longtime friend and duet partner Christoph Trummer. Her performances are intimate and captivating, revealing the same qualities that have long defined her work: tenderness, sincerity and the ability to make personal stories feel universal.
