Der Stier Ferdinand lebt auf einer grünen Weide im Süden von Spanien. Während seine Freunde für den Stierkampf trainieren, sitzt er lieber unter einem Baum und riecht an den Blumen. Eines Tages kommen Männer aus der Stadt, um den wildesten Stier auszusuchen. Ferdinand trottet zu seinem Baum und will sich in den Schatten setzen. Da passiert etwas völlig Unerwartetes. 

Die Geschichte von Ferdinand ist ein warmherziges Familienstück und erzählt die Vision, dass Friedlichkeit stärker sein kann als Gewalt.
