Denn Stop-Motion ist genau wie eine queere Person weird, sanft, praxisorientiert, heiß – und oft genug wird sie nicht ausreichend gewürdigt. Der Filmemacher Daniel Sterlin-Altman leitet diesen dreistündigen Workshop, der kollektives Storytelling erprobt und damit die geltenden Regeln des solitären Filmschaffens in der Animationscommunity vorübergehend außer Kraft setzt. Stattdessen nutzen die Teilnehmer:innen Under-Camera-Animationstechniken, um zu einer Gemeinschaft zusammen zu wachsen und gemeinsam einen animierten Kurzfilm zu realisieren. Der Workshop richtet sich in erster Linie an Menschen, die schon erste oder grundlegende Animationserfahrung besitzen.
There are fewer things more inherently queer than animation, and stop motion most of all. Like queer people, stop motion is weird, soft, hands-on, spicy, and often given the short end of the stick. In this 3-hour workshop, join filmmaker Daniel Sterlin-Altman through this collective storytelling exercise, which temporarily suspends the rules of isolation in animation culture. Instead, using under-camera animation techniques, participants will bond as a communal group to collectively create an animated short. This workshop is primarily for those with some entry level animation background or higher.
