Mantra & Meditation | Friday 10.10, 18.00–19.30 | @soulcity_zurich
My dad Francesco @cacioffola64 and I warmly invite you to a shared mantra meditation.
We chant a few simple mantras, accompanied by the shruti box and guitar, with moments of meditation, stories, and silence in between.
No prior experience is needed, just openness and curiosity to sing together, breathe, and come to stillness of the mind.
I want to share a small clarification about these mantra meditations.
They are not kirtans or bhajans, and they're not spaces where the focus is on reaching a highly ecstatic or devotional state through singing.
We usually chant only a few mantras, with meditation and storytelling in between.
The intention is more quiet and contemplative. We explore the cultural and mythological context of the mantras: who the deities are, why these mantras are sung, and the stories and meanings behind them.
Part of this evening is about bringing a bit more of the cultural background into Zurich, a place where yoga is widely practiced but often separated from its wider context.
So if you join, expect a calm, grounding, storytelling kind of evening, where we sing together and then sit with what we've just sung, allowing the mantra to settle through meditation.
That is what this space is about.
Hope to see you.
♡
Note: Depending on who is coming, the evening is held in either German or English.
