Kicking off a new season of REAL people, telling TRUE stories LIVE on stage! This month’s theme, "UNPACKING," invites us to open the box, peel back the layers, and explore the complexities that keep us from our true selves and each other.

"Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren't always comfortable, but they're never weaknesses." — Brené Brown

LIFTING THE LID

We all have something that needs unpacking: Cardboard boxes from a move you haven't finished, a secret you've guarded for too long, or an unwelcome truth that you can no longer ignore. When do you finally decide to open it all up? And what surprises—good or bad—did you find?

POIGNANT PROMPTS

  • Moving Day Reveal: A time you finally opened that box you hadn't touched in years and what object or memory spilled out that touched you deeply.

  • Exploded View: When you broke down a complicated issue to someone (romantic entanglement, existential fears) resulting in an unforeseen pay-off.

  • Shedding Baggage: What happened when you decided to unpack a long-held belief or prejudice and discovered a truth you never saw coming.

With the night’s UNPACKING theme, we want to explore the literal and the metaphorical. Come add your name to the StorySLAM hat and surprise us with your own
