Let’s close our eyes, direct the focus inwards, and for this evening let our bodies take the lead and surprise us. With elements of Yoga, meditation, contact improvisation and touch exercises, we will guide us through different movement experiments to tune in with our somatic experience and playfully explore our bodily expressions. Society has not only planted normative images of bodies in our heads, but also trained us many movement patterns. This workshop is an invitation to sense, mess, queer and unlearn them to become more disobedient.
This workshop is inspired by our ongoing research on activism and body work and readings like Disobedient Bodies by Emma Dabiri, Embodied Activism by Rae Johnson, Who is Wellness for? by Fariha Roísín and many more.
