Flex-Tickets: What are they and what are the benefits?

With Flex-Tickets, you can offer your guests a fair cancellation option. Buyers pay a small surcharge and can cancel their ticket themselves up to a deadline you define before the event begins. The refund is processed automatically by Eventfrog.

Benefits of Flex-Tickets

Flex-Tickets offer several advantages:

  • Additional income: 50% of the Flex-Ticket surcharge goes directly to you.
  • Earlier bookings: Guests are more likely to buy early because they can cancel flexibly.
  • No extra effort: Eventfrog handles the entire refund process.
  • Full control: You decide on the cancellation deadline and the quota yourself.

Requirements

To use Flex-Tickets, the following conditions must be met:

  • Flex-Tickets are only available for ticket prices of 10 CHF or higher.
  • They can be activated for events and attractions with ticket sales.
  • Early-bird categories are excluded.
  • For combination categories, the settings of the event on which they were created apply.

How it works

Flex-Tickets can be activated either during event creation or later in the cockpit. You define two key settings:

  1. Cancellation deadline

    • 48 hours, 4 days or 7 days before the event starts
    • Custom deadline between 1 and 90 days
  2. Quota

    • Percentage of tickets offered as Flex-Tickets
    • Adjustable between 10% and 100% (default: 50%)

When a person buys a Flex-Ticket, the exact cancellation deadline is displayed in the ticket shop. If they cancel, the ticket price is refunded minus a 1.5% processing fee. The ticket automatically returns to sale. Regular tickets remain visible and are marked as «Non-refundable».

Display for buyers

Flex-Tickets are clearly visible during the purchase process:

  • They carry a «Flex» label.
  • The «cancellation deadline» is visible for each ticket.
  • Regular tickets are displayed alongside and marked as «Non-refundable».
  • The Flex-Ticket surcharge is listed separately in the basket and on the purchase receipt.
