An Internet connection is required to initialise the app for the first time. An internet connection must also be guaranteed in order to pair other devices. However, as soon as the current status of ticket sales has been downloaded to the smartphone, this is no longer required. Scanning also works offline.
If you want to see which tickets have been used and which have not in the buyer details after the event, reconnect the app to the internet after scanning and before you close it or log out. This is the only way the scanning data can be transmitted correctly.
An internet connection is particularly recommended for events with multiple entrances, as only if all smartphones are synchronised via the internet can it be guaranteed that no tickets can be scanned twice (duplicates).
