Improvising with Humans and Improvising with Machines (in englischer Sprache)
In this talk, musician and professor of improvisation Ivar Grydeland shares insights from his artistic research, which focuses on improvisation and technology. The two collaborative research projects, Love Your Latency and Goodbye Intuition, explore telematic improvisation and human-machine relationships, respectively. Grydeland will present the outcomes and methods of these projects, along with insights from other research initiatives. He will also discuss the challenges of navigating artistic processes within an artistic research framework.
Ivar Grydeland is an improvising guitarist, a Professor of Improvisation, and the Head of the Jazz, Improvised Music, and Traditional Nordic Folk Music Department at the Norwegian Academy of Music. He is also affiliated with the Centre for Excellence in Creative Use of Technologies in Music Education (CreaTeME) at the University of Agder.
