Häusler Contemporary Zürich freut sich, die Einzelausstellung «Box Piece» von Gary Kuehn anzukündigen, der seit den 1960ern zu den wichtigsten Vertretern des Post Minimalismus und der Process Art gehört. «The Box Piece started when I made ten small-scale paintings based on what I thought were the essential gestural approaches to a rectangular form. I also had fifty or sixty drawings. All these, the paintings and drawings, were part of the gesture project – and I thought, okay, I’m done with this project. I’ll conclude the whole thing by making a very well-made crate for it — sort of like the Artschwager pieces that were in the Whitney show years later. I’ll put everything in there and then I’ll screw the top on, and that’ll be it.
