Public Lecture and Panel Discussion, followed by a reception with drinks and light refreshments.

How do women drive the transition toward more sustainable farming?
What can India and Switzerland learn from each other?

We are exploring these questions with members of the Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF) project. By applying agroecological principles, smallholders in Andhra Pradesh (India) secure healthy food, stable incomes, and resilient community structures led by local women’s self-help groups.

Speakers:
Swati Renduchintala is leading the international cooperation at APCNF.
Arika Narasamma is a farmer scientist at the APCNF’s RySS academy.
Bobbili Jyothi is a farmer and student at RySS academy, offering field classes on her farm.
Sudhakar Yerrakonda is the thematic lead for learning and academics at RySS.

Panellists:
Johanna Herrigel is a programme manager at Biovision and a member of the AG FairFood Feministisch (WIDE).
Tamina Felder is a farmer in the canton of Bern and researcher at FiBL.

Moderation:
Tina Goethe (HEKS)
